If it works, isn't bloated (2GB recommended for the OS, right...) and actually streamlines and improves on XP then maybe.
But really MS underestimated the effects of the requirements. I work for a company with over 80,000 employees, and we purchase Dells configured to XP rather than Vista simply because it needs less power and is more reliable. I doubt we're alone in that. MS needs to really get 7 running on the same spec as XP IMHO or the same thing may happen again.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
