90% of ps3 owners bought ps3 to watch blu ray?? care to give a proof? and is this also the reason why RE5 and SF4 sold more on ps3 despite having a smaller userbase?

+1 I am thinking more like the difference in user base is not as large as vg chartz and npd have speculated. If everyone who rrod bought a back up 360 while waiting for there used unit to come back from microsoft, then that would account for why must multiplats lately have been more in favor of the ps3. The amount of consoles that have people buying software is actually smaller than the actual user base as a whole (most people do not buy multiple copies of games when they have more than one system, etc, etc).

Replacment units for RROD are one thing - those who buy X360 to play on it without paying for their games are other reason why real userbases aren't that diffrent :D

And as for Kiillzone low numbers - imho it proves that ps3 userbase is much more diverse and that people who love console FPSes already choosen X360 aka shooter box.

There's some truth in that I believe.  PS3 has a more even spread of its install base across Japan, Others & US than 360, which is very US/UK skewed.  I'm not sure PS3 owners are more diverse as such though, just that they're tastes are more evenly spread in percentage terms vs a large percentage of 360 owners really liking FPS/TPS particularly online.

Add that to the fact than in US, perhaps the region where FPS/TPS on a console is the most prevelant, the 360 has much more of those gamers sewn up already, and you can see why an FPS on PS3 isn't going to match sales of a comparable FPS on 360 - at least not right now anyway.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
