It's possiblt that the 360 can handle it but nothing so far indicates that. Online gaming on the 360 is mostly through p2p, which is not suitable for 256-player games. Therefore, dedicated servers would be needed. btw I think the highest number of players you can get for an online game for the 360 is 16 i think
