8500 GT is not great for gaming really, 8800 and up are good. 8600 and 8500, people use them for watching blu-ray. Do you have lastest graphic card driver on your current one? You might need to run antispyware program like Malwarebytes` Anti-malware, try StartUpLite while you're at it.
