The MegaDrive d-pad was terrible.... possibly more so than the X-box one.
Too, loose being the main problem, it had more "play" in it than a 5 year old N64 control stick ("play" being as if it had worn down)
I can't comment on the supposed "king" of d-pads... the Saturn... but if it is anything like the Megadrives then I would say it is way overhyped on here.
