Wiped, do you realize the X360:PS3 marketshare gap has decreased this year, and not increased?

What big games does the PS3 have that aren't going to drag it down into the 10k/wk category over the summer?

I'm not arguing that the 360 will move some fantastic number of units, but I don't see it moving so little as to allow the PS3 to achieve a 6:1 or 7:1 ratio.

So far, this year, the PS3 has sold 2.5:1 systems in Japan. In the same timespan in 2008 (Jan-Mar), the PS3 had a 6.6:1 gap.

So that gap has shrunk by 3 times in the last year...Not increased. I don't get the crazy logic that the PS3 is going to sell 6-7 million units even after the big hitters come out. It'll get a fantastic boost, but I don't see it selling as well as the PS3 fanboys want to argue.

Final Fantasy XII on PS2 sold 2.42 million copies in Japan and GT4 sold well over a million in Japan.  Even if half those people that plan to buy those games for the PS3 already own a PS3 in Japan that still means that FFXIII and GT5 have the potential to at the very least move 1.5 million new PS3s in Japan during the holiday season.  Throw in another 1 million for Versus XIII and you still have the PS3, at the least, having an advantage of 5.5 million to less than 1.5 million, at most for the 360 in Japan.  And the two Final Fanatasies and GT5 aren't the only games coming to the PS3 over the next year and a half.  There will also be new games from Hideo Kojima, Team ICO's game, probably a new Yakuza game from Sega (and the latest one has sold 2x as many copies of the any of the 360's games there), Ninja Gaiden Sigma II, Eternal Mana Rossaria, Tales of Vesperia PS3 and probably Star Ocean 4 PS3 and The Last Remnant PS3.  And the PS3 version of any big Western multiplat game that sees release in Japan will most likely continue to sell much better there than the 360 version as will Japanese multiplat games:  GTA IV sold more than twice what the 360 version did in Japan, SFIV PS3 sold 2x times as many copies as the 360 version, and RE5 sold 4x as many copies as the 360 version.
