Nope... it's not just random funny stuff... there's actually some story from beginning to the end of the anime. Although it starts off quite typical (but distinctive in its animation... well sort of), the anime does progress a lot after that. It's also quite fast pace and a blast to watch.

The story contains a lot of stuffs, but if I were to sum it up in one sentence, I would say that it's about high school life and the problems teenagers are associated with. The characters all start off in one way another have a certain "problems" and might seem linear (like how one always seem to be cheerful and another always seem overly violent). I have a qualm about putting it that way, though, since the anime doesn't give that feeling all the time, and watching it certainly doesn't errr you as much as my summary might sounds. Anyway, yea... my summary sucks, so just watch it. =/

As for comedy, it has a lot of funny moments. My favorite scene certainly is the "FOUND YOU!" part early in the anime.
