As far as black voters always voting Democrat, it's for very similar reasons (the promises that Democrats make for them and for lower wealth families). Although, in the past it was always around 80-90% voted Democrat. Obama brought in a whole 5% more!

 

Problem is that it's recent occurrence from historical perspective. The majority of black voters were Republican up until about my mother's generation. The "younger" generation put Obama office. When I say younger, I mean the post integration generations. During the Civil Rights era, the "Dixiecrats" migrated to the Republican party. This why the black vote to switched from the Republican's to the Democrats.

 

Well, that makes sense since the Republican Party is Lincoln's Party, who'd knew that a century later, the parties would switch places in the assassination era (Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X)...
