This is pretty much a vague attack at the 360 due to all the games it's stolen from diehard PS3 fanboys.
Why should a console that's increased it's marketshare by 100%, and growing, pull out of a rather important market?
What this comes down to is that YOU want them to leave so the Playstation 3 can get more exclusives. Nothing more, nothing less. You couldn't care about the X360.
It's not like the PS3 has had any better attach rates than the 360 has in Japan. The X360's biggest game is just above 200,000. The PS3's biggest game is just above 600,000. That's the 3:1 ratio there.
Now, if you want to talk failure, lets talk the Playstation 2 vs. Playstation 3.
The PS3's top-selling game in America (GTAIV) has sold just under 2.4 million units, life to date. The X360's top-selling game (Halo 3) outsold that in it's first week. The 360 has 8 games that have sold more than the top PS3 game in America.
Now, with that kind of disparity....Why shouldn't the PS3 close up shop? The PS2 has 19 games that have sold better in America vs. the PS3. That's following the same logic of the X360 closing up shop in Japan argument.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
