I dont think they can afford to, its all very well to say 'drop the price' but they have other factors to worry about, such as how much each PS3 costs them.

Considering the fact that the stake of both the format war and the console war lie on the shoulders of the ps3, I think it's worth taking more losses now so that the machine starts selling.
