Some people are posting misconceptions while others are posting the correct things based on misconceptions, and neither party is making an effort to explain themselves.

I think that is down to the sheer brilliance of the thread topic. Get people to post something they think is false, and there is nothing whatever to flame them for, because whatever it is, it isn't their opinion. Amazing.
