Without a doubt Metal Gear Solid 4. Better story, Graphics, Very refined. The game was just perfect. Every nook and cranny in that game was given consideration. You can always tell when a game has just had so much TLC dumped into it. Metal Gear Solid 4 is one of those games.
I liked Galaxy. One of the few games that I actually have liked. But the Wii mote was practically useless with it. Galaxy was good but I can even begin to describe how far away it was from Mario 64. It had some neat things with gravity. Running around on the different planets and spheres was pretty neat. However, it was 3d Mario in space. It was highly, highly overrated IMO.
Also for the people bagging on the cut scenes in MGS4 and the length of gameplay, Mario Galaxy wasn't exactly the longest game in the world. Like most Mario games you can beat it in a very timely fashion.
