I figured out that I can fix the problem by pressing the reset button on the back of the controller... Apparently it is an issue with the bluetooth connection.

And I also have a problem with the R2 button. It's basically useless for games like WipEout, where my finger needs to be right there in case I need it, but the slightest touch sends me flying into walls. =/
