Most developers are targeting a Western audience these days. Why aren't they creating characters like Marcus Fenix? He'd be a great lead.

 

 

They're trying to move around to that, but jRPG's have stayed Japan focussed. The companies that are looking West have made more strong silent protaganists, like the lead in Ninja Gaiden etc., but they're also not jRPG's.
