Right. All of these enticements people come up with always amount to "spend more money Sony." Cutting the price, adding in third party games (This is how WaWar would get in the PS3 box: Sony spends 40-50 dollars on each copy, puts it in the box, and voila! It's a bundle), and advertise more.
The original, 599.99 price of the PS3 can be viewed as a massive, billion dollar ad campaign. Instead of putting ads on television, they put their ad in the price: here is an 800 dollar machine for 600! Sony could have spent a billion dollars on advertising instead, but offered the system at an 800 dollar price tag.
Sony has already spent, and they've spent big. If the system isn't selling well enough to meet your personal hopes, it's not because Sony hasn't tried hard enough, it's because people don't want it.
