Given the fact that you could get classic games for the PS2 for well under 10$ i'd say that PS2 is the right choice. Its not like it will hurt your wallet buying one, so go for it. Buy tons of cheep and awesome games, and if you feel that you need more, go for the 360 later. But your first choice should be PS2 hands down.
To say otherwise is madness.
