PS2 or 360 offline?

I prefer adventure and RPGS over shooters... Buyt I prefer the shooters on the PC or the Wii

 

 

PS2, no brainer.

Want adventure? get Shadow of the Colossus, ICO, God of War 1&2, Ratchet, Silent Hill 2 (can probably be played on xbox360), and MGS3.

Want RPG? get tales of symphonia, FF10, FF10-2, FF12, Kingdom Hearts 1&2, Persona 3 &4, etc.

There are plenty of classics that I've yet to name, but I strongly doubt the 360 (or another console this gen) will ever match depth of quality games on the PS2 in terms of both the RPG and Adventure genres.

If you want to be "future proof" aswell as play PS2 games, I'd personally try and get a hold of a B/C PS3.

One of my friends got one off Ebay for around $400 (plus shipping) only to find a "buy now" BC PS3 80gb for 350 (with free shipping a day later.
