Good to have confirmation, I already thought this to be the case for MGS4 and FF XIII. For many other early games their game engines weren't yet designed with 1080p in mind, the more complex games surely need to make use of the Cell's SPEs to assure good performance.
IMO the most impressive 1080p PS3 game so far is Super Stardust HD available on the PSN, just so many things going on. It's damn impressive to look at a single astroid amongst thousands of others and follow it with your eyes to see it collide with another asteroid, the paths of both astoroids being altered due to the collision, other asteroids falling apart while bumping into mines, etc. A beatifully designed game!
I've unlocked hardcore mode, it's insane at what speed things move around, collide and explode!
