I think it will be a new game or service for the PS3 (PS2 BC is possible, or Netflix, or some service resulting from the merge with VAIO and Walkman). If there was a PS3 price cut coming soon, we'd be seeing leaks already.
However, a PS3 price cut would make things very interesting, especially from the financial perspective since they promised shareholders they'd focus on profitability.
It would also be another nail in Sony's coffin. At the rate they're losing money, they could go bankrupt 1-3 years from now if the recession doesn't stop soon (which I don't think it will).
