I honestly thought IX was going to be my favorite while I was playing it, and then I hated so many things about the ending. Still one of my favorites, though. Did anybody else strongly dislike the direction the game went in the end? My favorite is still VI after all these years, sadly (or II and III in the US releases.)
I did think X was really good though. Definitely the tightest plot of any Final Fantasy.
