That is not true whatsoever, as most hardcore FF fans have long since played all the old FF's, and the consensus has been that V is the weak link of the SNES generation for quite some time.

What still spawns debates on forums? FF 7's character and stories, or the FF V's addicting battle mechanics.

Great gameplay/music/graphics CAN equal a good RPG.

That plus an incredible story equals an unforgettable one.

Chill dude, I was teasing: I know V isn't exactly the favored son. But it was: 1) damned fun to play through, 2) a good example of how battles don't have to be a chore, and 3) still waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than VII and VIII.

Yeah, I went there.

Way better than VIII, more fun than VII but overall about on par with it.

Plus Exdeath's theme rules.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.
