I don't get it. What is this website? All I gather is a motto that the site has intentions to gather people as Americans the same way they were on 9/12/01. If I recall that was utterly horrified, scared, and united in the fear of a still unknown cause to a series of plane crashes the day before. So we're trying to go back to that again? What's funny is that I believe the terrorists have the same dream for Americans, get them back to 9/12/01.

Can anyone address this at all? I know it's far too on-topic to catch much notice, but still, I'd like to know why it's a good idea to promote the togetherness wrapped around our commons fears like we were on 9/12/01. I just don't get why that is a day we'd like to recapture and bottle.

The idea is that we don't get complacent and lax in national security to the point where we let it happen again.

Can you point me to where on that website they explain that? I didn't see the general crux of news, videos, etc. focusing on that aspect, so I'm merely wondering whether this is you interpreting the message in your own way to give it more credence or if the website does reflect what you just said.

I think the main idea on the website was the both parties working together point.  I was interpreting the other point myself, but I still think it's a very valid reason to never forget how we felt on 9/12.

How do you interpret how we felt on 9/12/01? I've given my thoughts which revolve around togetherness based on fear, utter shock, and common blind hatred towards middle easterns. How exactly do you extrpolate the feelings of 9/12/01 into a common day motto to work with?

I just personally don't feel 9/12 is the kind of togetherness we should be celebrating and working towards, even though I understand it was meant in a more positive manner, it's still misguided. What if I made a website for togetherness and compared it to the togetherness the Germans felt during WWII while commiting atrocities? I don't actually want people to become Nazis together, but it's hard to seperate the negative implications of that togetherness and just extrapolate the fact that everyone was united. The reasoning behind everyone being united should matter, and I don't think the way we were on 9/12/01 is anything to welcome back and in the case of many people, nothing to be proud of. I'm sure there are better days than that. How about the Million Man March day?

You're overthinking it, it's just a site for the purpose of remembering 9/11, of which there are many good reasons to never forget that day and the ensuing aftermath.
