I think the main idea on the website was the both parties working together point. I was interpreting the other point myself, but I still think it's a very valid reason to never forget how we felt on 9/12. |
How do you interpret how we felt on 9/12/01? I've given my thoughts which revolve around togetherness based on fear, utter shock, and common blind hatred towards middle easterns. How exactly do you extrpolate the feelings of 9/12/01 into a common day motto to work with?
I just personally don't feel 9/12 is the kind of togetherness we should be celebrating and working towards, even though I understand it was meant in a more positive manner, it's still misguided. What if I made a website for togetherness and compared it to the togetherness the Germans felt during WWII while commiting atrocities? I don't actually want people to become Nazis together, but it's hard to seperate the negative implications of that togetherness and just extrapolate the fact that everyone was united. The reasoning behind everyone being united should matter, and I don't think the way we were on 9/12/01 is anything to welcome back and in the case of many people, nothing to be proud of. I'm sure there are better days than that. How about the Million Man March day?
