I think the final verdict is that the challenge was met. Is it a build anyone should seriously consider? NO. But it is a pretty good base for an awesome price/performance PC.
And depending on components and environment it's certainly feasible to run a computer without case fans. And no I'm not talking about liquid cooling either.
