this is... looking at the bright side of gaming.
but what about the black side? here are a few off the top of my head..
1.) gaming can make people addicted to the point of calling in sick days from a job, not paying any attention to one's family, and never actually going out anymore. this is the biggest problem really. it destroys lives.
2.) gaming deteriorates one's english level because of the constant 'leet' speaks and abbreviations that are used in matches on a regular basis. things like 'noob', 'sux', 'tank', 'dps', 'gg', and the like are unacceptable replacements in the real world.
3.) gaming increases one's irritability. there are tons of games out there that employ cheap deaths, unfair circumstances, and in multiplayer, shit teammates, that make gamers irritated as hell. after such gaming sessions, one usually translates his irritation towards the people around him.
4.) gaming removes one's real world social skills. interacting online is not the same with interacting in the real world. online, it might be alright to jab left and right against your teammates, such as "i just pwned u looser", but we all know that these jabs aren't welcome in the real world. the problem is, one can easily confuse internet jabs as acceptable.
