Are you telling me that CE3 on the PC will completely annhilate the console versions, which look like CE2? Because if not then it's been wasted development time.

Not really, if Cry-engine gets used more then thats a win as it scales extremely highly. Most PC/Console games only differentiate really on resolution and AA/AF and you want more of that?!
