At square's pace, by 2020 they might reveal a 20 second CGI teaser for Final Fantasy XIV...

As for 3d gaming, it won't happen until auto-3d television (3d without glasses) sets become widespread. Anything requiring the goofy glasses will get shunned by the mainstream.
