no, there's concrete proof that thing can't beat the hulk.
thing got the crap beat out of him by Champion (a cosmic entity). it wasn't even a contest. thing just got thrown from pillar to post for three rounds.
on the other hand, thanos, while trying to acquire the power gem from Champion, said that "Champion's strength is unbelievable, almost parallel to that of the hulk". (we can trust thanos in this regard)
so thing and hulk are pretty far away in the power department.
