Both Rath and Alic0004 have great points, which should answer your questions.

This is mainly a console site. You don't see PC sales in the main figures do you? Even though many of us will play PC games as we love games in general, generally we (as a site) don't focus on just one game, platform, or genre. Also, most people here know what WoW is and what it feels like to get addicted to leveling up and how much time it has taken away from the lives of so many others we know. The mainstream who aren't interested in the next biggest game or the next revolutionary play control/mechanic or graphics are going to be more susceptible to that. This site is NOT mainstream in that sense. Most of us know our stuff and watch the game industry closely.

I find it quite funny when I go to other forums and see comments on random news discussions or on youtube videos at all the people who don't know anything. People having conversations and wondering about something that we have discussed to death here at VGchartz. Many of us have played tons of FPSs and games of every genre. We know what makes a great game in general. We see stuff in other games that Halo 3 just doesn't deliver on. Stuff that mainstream could care less about as long as they have 3 or 4 buddies that know just as little. We generally watch the game industry as a whole instead of making a single franchise or even a single game our entire lives despite its flaws. So for Halo 3, it was fun for a while and some of us will still play it, but the industry didn't end with it.

Granted there are many reasons, but maybe a few of these will help you understand a bit.  And if anybody here wants to add or disagrees, please do.
