To me it doesn't matter where the PS3 finishes this gen. If it finishes last, big deal.
What is important is that it sells enough hardware\software to turn profitable and maintain the 3rd party support it enjoys now which then enables the games to keep coming.
As long as that happens then my money is well spent...not that I think it is not already well spent.
