IMO Fable, was fun, but flawed. Lionhead tried to do too much I think and the game suffered for it.

Fable II is (again IMO) a more refined experience, and therefore easier to get into and play. I think if you had to put a "shtick" to Fable it would be the freedom to play the game as either a good or evil character with game world ramifications to those decisions.

I enjoyed the hell out of Fable II, and probably would have played it a lot more than my original play through if it hadn't come out in that like 3 week window where the 360 was inundated with good games.

For the record, I didn't think the ending, did the rest of the game, justice, but it was still quite an enjoyable game.
