I actually did not mind the final battle at all. It's one of my favorite parts of the game and I personally cannot think of a way to top it. In fact, if more of the cutscenes were at least partially playable the way that final battle was, I would be complaining about one less thing right now.
I'm talking about the several minute fistfight that preceded the battle itself. The part where you played it was absolutely fine.
You played the entire fistfight, it just progressed into more assisted playing to give it a more epic feel. It's basically the same thing as Prince of Persia, halfway in between fully playable and a QTE.

Ahhh...somewhere in between the other 8 hours and 55 minutes of cutscenes I had forgotten about that part. I agree. Most of that could have very well have been playable. My biggest greivance though is why instead of a 10 minute cutscene involving Raiden fighting Geckos and Vamp down in South America couldn't we play that shit ourselves as Raiden or at least a portion of it?
