Homosexuality is not a mental illness. The APA hasn't listed it as one since 1973. In fact, every year when they vote on their list of mental diseases at their convention, the vote to list homosexuality as a mental illness gets smaller every year. So unless you have some data to prove the last 36 years of American research wrong, don't make these arguments. They're wrong. |
Yes, but why was it reclassified? Was it for valid scientific reasons, or political pressure?
Is it even possible to have a scientific debate on it anymore? I doubt the homosexual lobby groups would stand for it if they did.
I wonder what type of protests and political pressure those that still feel it is a mental illness have to put up with. I bet it would drive the gay rights groups "crazy". <-----
Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
