Nope the definitions are the same. Not everything abnormal is a mental illness though. You could try to cure it I suppose, but you would have to find a root cause first. Even then it is unlikely to ever work. We understand the root cause of gender dysphoria (transgender folk) and there is no cure for them. They are likely going to be bumped out of the DSM next revision as well. At least thats the word coming down the grapevine.
