Well, if you don't like where you work go somewhere else.... Easy as that.

I mean honestly, unless he was planning on sueing Microsoft, he, assuming he is atleast a decent designer, could have switched to a different company and then been a bit more careful about what he let his coworkers know.

I see this as being his own fault, and if I were working there I could have just as easily complained about working next to a gay guy and sued Microsoft for not accommodating MY feelings.

Your feelings are hateful.  Gay people don't hate straight people.  They don't want you to love them and worship them and give them your children.  Believe it or not, they want people like you (who would feel gross working next to them) to just leave them alone.

And not everybody instantly leaves their job the second they feel offended by anything.  Expecting this guy to move and quit immediately, just because other people hate him, is a pretty far stretch.  It's also illegal.

^ the thing is there is law for thats.
why you think companies have human resources sections.

women, gay/lesbians and black/chinese/latinos/ shouldn't experience that kind of treatment.
for neither their gender, race or orientation.

You think he is the only person this happens to? This happens to straight people, not a big deal, they just find a different job. But because he is gay he is royalty in the eyes of the law, he deserves special treatment in the eyes of the law. And the other part is because he works at Microsoft, if he worked at a smaller company he wouldnt be going for its pockets.

Simply put, this is political BS. If gays and lesbians want to be treated as equal they need to suck it up and started acting equal. Same with blacks, chinese, and mexicans, you want to be treated equal then quit crying and saying its because of your skin color.

Anyways, I best stop before I upset people.

It's not just thinking "oh no I'm a minority here and I'm uncomfortable I better move."  It's people giving you a hateful and hurtful nickname because they hate you and laugh at your pathetic existence and think you deserve to be laughed at every single day at work.  Blaming minority problems on minorities is really stupid.  Especially when you're blaming them for being born the way they were born.

Things were better when they were all in the closet and kept their sexuality to their selves. Gay people certainly existed back in the 70's and 80's, but we didn't have these problems back then. The only people that need to know if you are gay are other gay people.

People only stayed in the closet back then because they would be murdered if they didn't.  Those weren't better times.  Maybe more convenient for hateful people like you, because you didn't have to deal with people who disgust you, but for them, they had to lie about themselves and live in fear of death if they walked down the wrong street.

It shouldn't matter if a person is gay or not. Even without telling the whole office in person the secrets can get out. Picture of loved ones are acceptable in an office, and a dead give away if they are all of you cuddling with a person of the same sex. Just as easy to spot someone out on a date with a member of the same sex. Expecting these people to hide in the shadows of society is reducing them to second class citizens. It turns out thats a bad idea.

I don't bring my klan robe and Nazi flags to work because it could make my jewish and black co-workers feel uncomfortable. I can't even keep a picture of Hitler on my desk.

So, sometimes you have to inconvience yourself to not offend the majority.

Being a Nazi or a Klan member means you hate somebody else.  Being gay doesn't involve hate.  Horrible analogy.

People aren't born Nazis.  They have to learn how to hate.  Gays are born gay.  They aren't converted in the shadows like Nazis are.

Would you seriously rather have your kids stumble across a Nazi parade than a gay parade?

Ya know, most forms of homosexuality are probably curable with the proper hormone treatments if you catch it before puberty. I'm sure it's just a chemical imbalance in the brain that causes it.

We treat so many other mental illnesses, why do we ignore this one?

Homosexuality is not a mental illness.  The APA hasn't listed it as one since 1973.  In fact, every year when they vote on their list of mental diseases at their convention, the vote to list homosexuality as a mental illness gets smaller every year.  So unless you have some data to prove the last 36 years of American research wrong, don't make these arguments.  They're wrong.
