I was about to keep arguing in the direction I was going in but...

I finally realized what was bothering me so much about your attitudes.

Govt: We think you have a problem. So now you get to go live on the streets.

This is what this would equate to. This is why its bothering me. I thought hobos were a bad thing too?

Couldn't they enter a rehab?

My problem is that I work and I have to succumb to random drug testing by my employer. Why shouldn't somebody have to do this who is merely being given money? I'm the one working. Maybe we should be fighting over people like me and you and whether we should be randomly tested and stop worrying so much about the minority of people that take government handouts.

Can you even go to rehab for pot? Considering that it isn't dehabilitating in the first place. To those of you who think it is, your opinion only matters if you've ever tried it. Otherwise you're just gullible and eating up propaganda like candy.

Theres no reason why the govt should just screw over the people they think have a problem giving them REAL problems, rather than the victimless crime they were committing in the first place.

Compared to living on the streets and not having food, drugs aren't even close to being a significant problem unless you are a heroin, meth, or crack addict.

I typed in "marijuana rehab" into Google and a whole mess of rehabs showed up, so yup you can go to rehab for pot addiction. It's still psychologically addictive, as is anything, plus it's a drug, so it's natural you'd be able to get help for it.

It's not a matter of screwing people over either. These are handouts and the government has a right to make sure it's going to the types of people using it for it's purpose. If you want to to go further, I also think it's fine for them to keep tabs on you spending it on TVs, and other trivial things along with drugs. We're in a time where the government does not have endless money and is going to cut back on shit like this. The application process is probably going to get stricter and the rules to stay in harsher. This is to budget cut welfare by disqualifying the fuck ups. Sad? Sure. However if I had to give welfare to a drug addict with no job and someone that didn't have an addiction with no job, I would choose the latter.
