Lastly, gotta love how the PS3 makes such lovely textures due to Blu Ray/Cell etc and then covers them in a Quincunx AA smear.

Quincunx Anti-aliasing can work really well, in any case some random quotes:

Tom's Hardware:
"The HRAA-engine filters over those five pixels to create the anti-aliased pixel. As already said, the performance of this Quincunx-AA is excellent and the quality very good."

"The effect of 'Quincunx' is an anti-aliasing effect that comes close to the quality of 4x AA, but it only requires the generation of two samples."

Active hardware:
"Quincunx is an Antialiasing technique that permits greater quality to be obtained than in 2X mode, with less performance than is sacrificed in 4X mode."

It has been implemented in the best looking console games to date.

You're missing the "blurs textures" quotes.

I do prefer Sharp over Blurr, but I'm already spoiled as a PC gamer so my thoughts shouldn't count in this matter. I just feel like posting this while I'm eating my bread.

Im posting from my gaming PC.
