Luckily, commands can be executed even if the time gauge isn't completely full... so I guess it's an upgrade from the old ones.

This cost thing reminds me of Xenogears though. It's the best of both worlds!

Exactly. This explains why I barely grind in some RPGs. This makes the difference between "heck yeah, another fight" or "ugghh... not another enemy."
