I dont really see a point in making an HD remake of FFVII, outside of the internet there are not that many people interested. It would be a waste of money and time (HD graphics for a 40 hours long game would cost a lot)

Due to the amount of FF7 hate here, I think you're severly underestimating that FF7 is still the most popular Final Fantasy and the most popular console RPG.

 

   I do realize that, and I am not the part of FF-hating campaing here as you've probably noticed.

   But that's not the point. The remake will sell, I am not implying that it wont. I am saying it isnt worth it to make it HD - too much time and money for the same result they can get from a handheld remake.

 

Absolutely. FFVII remake on Crisis Core engine would sell a ton, and they even have the engine and the assets ready.
