Putting a game down peoples throats is meaningless. But that's a common thing on the internet. Such an attitude is actually the beginning of fanboyism. That's why we have so many console fanboys around - people believe that by "advertising" their console and hyping its games they will get more people to buy it.
While in fact - internet gaming community is such a minority that any kind of "hype" there means nothing and fanboys are just wasting their time.
