What about the Japanese audience? Are they being abandoned or ignored? Yes and this is why gaming is on a decline in Japan. The majority of Japanese developers are all focused on the west. They seem to be losing their originality and the quirkiness that made western fans want to play them and import them when they were not localized. It's a shame. Hopefully Square can get its act together and reach out to fans in Japan with some new RPGs and maybe a love sim or two to reignite the video games market in Japan. Do not leave Nintendo to try and do it on their own.

No they're not, that is reactionary and very silly. It's not like they're shutting down their old studios or ceasing to develop and fund the games that Japanese players love so much.

Alright I broke down.Honestly, if they made great western games, I'd be happy, but I'd also think, "Man. This could be a great JRPG."
Hey, ideally? No they couldn't.
