PS3 struggling to have better graphics? Killzone 2/Uncharted would LOVE to see you in the Principal's office :D

To be more specific, PS3 struggles at textures what simply wasn't supposed to be considering the RSX has 50% more texture mapping units than X360's GPU. One can easily suppose such issues come from the small amount of memory avaliable (around 450 MB for both video and main pool). The N64 also had a limited texture cache which made it extremely difficult to load anything but small, low color depth textures into the rendering engine. Look at Fallout 3 or any other PS3 multiplat that looks noticeably blurry. An oversight on the part of the hardware designers is to blame instead of a specific hardware limitation.

Firstly, Killzone 2 only uses a TOTAL of 292MB of RAM (out of 512MB).  Textures were better than Gears 2 (especially considering more of Gears 2 texture budget was spent on the characters and not the ground, etc).

Secondly, PS3 has the best technical version of Fallout 3.  See it here.

It's backed up by this professional analysis.  Uncharted STILL holds the crown for superior console textures throughout the game.  I'm sure Uncharted 2 won't be worse.  So, as you were saying...
