I agree on some arguing against the 4-DVD format.
To me, I do not care, but at the same time, I care in the fact that the reasoning for it (excessive BD-esque cutscenes) is just a waste of good disk space.
We live in a day and time that cutscenes are the most worthless add-on to a game out there. Real-time cutscenes in Blue Dragon were fantastic. The same can be said in Eternal Sonata. Heck, I'd argue that the ES cutscenes are BETTER in realtime than the CGI cutscenes in Blue Dragon.
Look at Mass Effect: same ammount of time for gameplay, but 1disk. Why? UE3 allows for special cutscenes that are realtime, and are in-engine. This saves so much room. Why didn't Mistwaker use that instead?
But nevertheless, atleast they aren't trying to gimp the game's length for more CG cutscenes and less gameplay.
