Even though it's not been proven?
It's just down to them using drives without rubber bumpers in earlier drives that were in the 360s. The "problem" would only occur - at least from what has been proven when the 360 was moved when a disc is spinning.
How could a disc be scratched otherwise, it's simply not possible.
It's just careless kids who don't show enough respect to expensive objects. If you drop a vase on the floor and it cracks, you don't expect a free replacment do you? Until it's proven otherwise I don't see where all these comments like yours are coming from.
I know there's plenty of them, but then there are plenty of stupid people around. I'm yet to ever hear from anyone who has experienced this without any doubt of authenticity.
