Ugg... quoting with this new forum gets ugly :S

Right now it hasn't. It lacks enough memory to store it and I have seen PSHome.

Lacks enough memory for what exactly? I don't think the console's power has any bearing on the ability of the online system / games for any of the platforms.

Why is a pointer important? But I won't contest you on the Wiimote, the sixaxis can only do the driving games and no more. So you may have won here.

You used to be a Nintendo fan yes? Have you played much of the Wii?? If you're a Nintendo fan you should be avid on Zelda games... I would assume, but maybe not but having the pointer in that game for shooting arrows any anything else pointer revolving was brilliant. I didn't like to shake the remote to swing the sword, I would have rathered to press a button for this, but it's slightly more immersive. RE4 is going to be BRILLIANT with the remote, I HATED aiming with the analogue stick. It's basically a FPS / shooter wet dream if they can get it right.

And why couldn't it be used the same way? What would prevent it? The PS3 can do MD and there is nothing stopping it from doing that. The games matter here and sony could do it, but they won't because mainly to try and be different and do it in a way that is better and more unique. And the Wii is not a rehashed GC, the Wii is about twice as powerful as the GC and if Nintendo could have used it as an upgrade why not Sony?

Wii being twice as powerful as GC is touted quite often, and you know what I suppose in some areas it has potential to be twice as powerful, but honestly it's GC architecture with the bottlenecks upgraded to help developers make things easier without having to do so much optimisation. You're not going to see graphics 2x as good as the GC on the Wii. It's more just the ability for new pretty effects and so on. I personally wish they had have added HDR lighting support.

They could have but they didn't, it wouldn't have been sucessful, it would have been a complete failure as an add on for the GC. Sony wouldn't do it either, it might be a one by one game sort of thing, but again it's about the fundamental difference that that console offers because of this. It's about differentiating themselves from the competition. It doesn't necessarily make all games better, but it certainly makes some... DBZ and Godfather are two examples for me.

Personally I fuggin HATE playing games with motion steering like in NFS Carbon, Sonic, and Excite Truck, I hate this sort of game on the Wii, I wish they gave me the option of Classic Conroller controllers honestly, so I will never buy games like this. FORCED MD for non MD concept games is LAME imho.

I personally got sick of the PS2...static..slow loading times...Yuck. But the main reason I hate the Wii is because they didn't up the power enough to make a big enough difference in the games and I despise the MD function. The MD is my main point of hatred, I can't stand it and don't think it has any real benefit for most games.

I think you should actually give the Wii a bit of a chance, is it the Sonic / Excite Truck style MD hatred or is it something else? What about MD do you hate so much? Nothing wrong with disliking it I just want to understand.

In games yes, But if you compare the ones the PS2 had that were on the GC and Xbox it just got hammered. RE4 was about 50 times better on GC and all games I played on PS2 and XB not only looked but played better. I still remember all star baseball...On the PS2 it stalled out and the screens were full of static, on the XB the screen was clear and it moved almost flawlessly between scenes. But that reminds me. play the elder scrolls on XB was a pain, when too many people got on screen during a fight the system would lag and freeze everytime..Since the Wii isn't much faster it really made me take a double check on if this was good or not. That and I have hear horror stories of the Wiimote dying and not responding to the motions well....which brought bakc PowerGlove nightmares.

Yup, but it's not about exacting motions it's about adding an extra 'layer' to the controls, DBZ and Godfather do this perfectly and they are FAR more fun to play because of this.

I'll leave it at that for this post.
