PS360N64PSXBOX, your attitude and statements could be improved as well, you're not standing on any higher ground right now. And btw, to be fair, there are also many gamers not happy with the paths that Sony and Microsoft have taken as well. There's nothing wrong with anyone's opinion, it's when we try to force our opinions on others that causes problems. Do unto others as you would want done to yourself, both in real life and online. |
1) Again, nobody proves this. 2) I am aware, I just happen not to be one of them. 3) What is the point of this? |
The point is that you are too defensive and quick to claim you are the only one that is right. Oh, and I have a PS3 but I'm getting a Wii. There are games I'd like to play for both, and I'm not threatened by the Wii because I know that it's just expanding the market, not shrinking it. "Hardcore" games will remain, so everyone chill out. |
Well, Maybe if people would stop attacking me and try to state their views and disprove my statements..Maybe I wouldn't be so quick to claim I am right? So far nobody had given a reason to believe that I am wrong...If I am indeed wrong it should be easy to prove right? Nobody is goin pay any attention to you saying chill out. Seriously, in all the forums I have been at those comments get ignored about 99.5% of the time. |
You may be right about some things, but you know what never does any good? Insulting people. Sure, no one is going to pay attention to me saying calm down, but it's not like you are going to convince anyone by insulting people. You aren't right about everything, either. The Wii can do some things the PS3 can't and that is get more people to play consoles that weren't already. If Sony dragged along the same people that played PS1 and PS2 they would be successful, but half of those people are probably also going to get a Wii because it's different and for some games the controls will be better. Double analog is not the best for all games. I hate to break that to you. |
1) Like I was attacked? 2) I really haven't attacked or insulted as much as you claim 3) Not right? Like about what? 4) Is that so? How can you claim these people never played before? Have you polled them? The Wii can't match the PS3's graphics, speed, online..Not to mention the PS3 has MD so if Sony wanted to they could make the PS3 do anything the Wii can. So no, there is nothing the Wii can do the PS3 can't. To match the Wii's MD powers all sony needs is a different controller as the PS3 can already detect MD. 5) Half of those people? Grabbing at straws here. And the controls are up to the person, I doubt the big N will get half of Sony's market. They are not even trying to. 6) Nice try slick. Where did I say that? Ooooohhhh, Thats right...I didn't.....Hmmmm. But I love to break it to you, but MD isn't best for all game either.... FYI http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixaxis#SIXAXIS http://ps3.ign.com/articles/740/740746p1.html Learn about the sixaxis controller. There is more to than teh dual analog. |
1) There have been lots of attacks going on in this thread, i'm not going to dig them up lets just let it slide. 2) Agreed 3) You want some proper refuting of arguments then see below - 4) Firstly, why can't the Wii match PS3's online? What have you seen to say that it can't and wont?
Secondly, the Wii CAN do things the PS3 can't. Number One thing is the pointer, PS3 cannot put a pointer on the screen, and that is something the Wii has and only the Wii has, yeah? Secondly, although both the SIXAXIS and Wii Remote have motion detection they are fundamentally different. The SIXAXIS motion is quite frankly a 'tacked on' feature. Motion detection like it is in the SIXAXIS has been around and available for a LONG time, the reason the Wii is different and why the PS3 can't do games like the Wii is because the controlled is so fundamentally different. How you ask? Because they completely changed the way that people use it. Can you imagine trying to play Wii Sports tennis with a SIXAXIS? Sure, you probably could but who wants to hold a banana shaped tennis raquet? This is where the ultimate difference lies, simply in the funamental way that humans interface with the technology. If Sony were to release a 'Remote' like device that functioned in very much the same way as the Wii Remote it would not be at all in the same class as the Wii Remote. The Wii Remote is REQUIRED for all Wii functionality with the option of normal controller use also, Nintendo COULD have released the Wii Remote as an upgrade to the GameCube, but they decided it was a better idea to re-release the GameCube with a different name and new fundamental differences. That's all I have to say on that, please don't take it as bashing you, I'm not I'm just refuting your arguments. And one opinion towards your current 'stance' on the consoles. Making a 'pledge' not to buy something because it's the 'weakest' is pretty rediculous, and if your motivation behind this is because the PS2 had long load times and was the weakest console then I think your motivation for making this 'pledge' against the Wii is all wrong. Personally dispite the physical power of the hardware in the PS2 i still think that was the 'strongest' console... take that as you will. |

I'd rather they not started.
2) Agreed
See.

4) Firstly, why can't the Wii match PS3's online? What have you seen to say that it can't and wont?
Right now it hasn't. It lacks enough memory to store it and I have seen PSHome.

Why is a pointer important? But I won't contest you on the Wiimote, the sixaxis can only do the driving games and no more. So you may have won here.

And why couldn't it be used the same way? What would prevent it? The PS3 can do MD and there is nothing stopping it from doing that. The games matter here and sony could do it, but they won't because mainly to try and be different and do it in a way that is better and more unique. And the Wii is not a rehashed GC, the Wii is about twice as powerful as the GC and if Nintendo could have used it as an upgrade why not Sony?
That's all I have to say on that, please don't take it as bashing you, I'm not I'm just refuting your arguments.
I didn't. You did what I have asked for a bazillion times.
And one opinion towards your current 'stance' on the consoles. I personally got sick of the PS2...static..slow loading times...Yuck. But the main reason I hate the Wii is because they didn't up the power enough to make a big enough difference in the games and I despise the MD function. The MD is my main point of hatred, I can't stand it and don't think it has any real benefit for most games.
Personally dispite the physical power of the hardware in the PS2 i still think that was the 'strongest' console... take that as you will.
In games yes, But if you compare the ones the PS2 had that were on the GC and Xbox it just got hammered. RE4 was about 50 times better on GC and all games I played on PS2 and XB not only looked but played better. I still remember all star baseball...On the PS2 it stalled out and the screens were full of static, on the XB the screen was clear and it moved almost flawlessly between scenes. But that reminds me. play the elder scrolls on XB was a pain, when too many people got on screen during a fight the system would lag and freeze everytime..Since the Wii isn't much faster it really made me take a double check on if this was good or not. That and I have hear horror stories of the Wiimote dying and not responding to the motions well....which brought bakc PowerGlove nightmares.
