when you come out of the plane they start pouring out from where you came from. Toss a grenade and take cover in the opposing end.
Once you kill those pirates they blow the door behind you off and start pouring in from there...so run to where the first group of pirates came from and you should be safe.
BTW where'd you get your platinum?
