Consider me an elitist or not, what I really question myself here is why are we going around in circles again? Gnizmo, I appreciate your post and it makes a lot of sense to me. I will say that yes, I'm looking for a different experience with Brawl. Luckily, I'm not the only one thinking the same same things I wrote in this thread, thus the creation of this community project. I know that Melee is a sinking ship and there's no way around it, the hours and hours of fun I've had with this game will probably never come back to me again, but I think it's not too much to ask to be able to use the characters I've familiarized myself with and be good with them again?

Seriously, me and my friends have built a cult following with Ganondorf, Captain Falcon, Link and Bowser ever since Melee arrived. Ever heard about the series "Ganon Knows Best" on Newgrounds? It's just fun to go play Melee while thinking that someone else thought the same things as us about these characters, meaning that Captain Falcon is apparently Ganondorf's son (because they're clones in Melee, hehe), Link is somehow the evil man that kills Captain Falcon's dad every time he comes back to life, etc. We barely take ourselves seriously while playing Melee, but when there's a time to, well, we go at it and the matches are excellent and fun. Heck, I even walk with Ganondorf and taunt in the middle of the fray just for the "lulz" and still win! xD

In Brawl... well, we all know what happened to those characters. Brawl+ allows me to do just what I wrote above again, that's why I'm promoting it here. Yes, believe it or not, Brawl+ can be fun too while bringing a better competitive level to the game. It's especially more fun if you're familiarized with Melee, there's no way no one cannot notice that.

So, apparently, what's really bugging people here is that I've used the word "definitive" in the thread title? Hmmm, I guess I never thought about all the meanings behind this word before (I barely ever use it). It could be the "definitive competitive" version of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but to me, it doesn't make sense at all and it would still stir controversy. Hmmm... :/

With all this said, I will ask this: is this community ready for Brawl+?

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
