http:/music.ign.com/articals/765/765093p1.html This artical is all about the musi in Lair. About the 5th paragaph down they say they have enoughf data to fill 8CDs thats around 6BGs of data right their. So if Sony sets a president of this kinda of audio in game it will have to be fallowed by third parties to keep up. Also note this does not include voice acting, or sound effects. I would say the final game will see about 2.5+GB in sound alone. And to get back to your animation point, each studio is doing animation differantly this gen. Looking at how naughty dog does it it will take a lot of time but it will rock in the end. Kwaad I think you are on the right track, but I think we will see big games on PS3 very quickly. Ithink MGS4 will nearly fill a 50GB blu Ray, and the same with most of Sonys first party titles late this year.

I can virtually guarante that they reference CD's in relation to the running time of the music, not how much data it takes up.

But I really don't fell like arguing with you since you seem to have a fairly poor grasp of these concepts. For one, how does the inclusion of physics increase the required disk space dramactically? And animation takes up nowhere nearly as much space as you think. 1080p does not magically increase the space of a game from 720p, hell, 1080p doesn't require any sort of increase in texture size.

You still have yet to respond to the problems of cost and increased comentary in games, and the same can be said of animations.
