It's hard to remember something you never did.
Sony has never been amazing at marketing. The best their marketing people ever came up with was "live in your world, play in ours." Great slogan amidst a sea of entirely forgettable ads.
If you want great marketing, look at just about every Sega Genesis ad ever made. They were not only vicious but amazingly successful. If we glance in Nintendo's direction, we see the original Super Smash Bros. commercial which was equally brilliant.
